Click on the Edit Citation (s) icon under the EndNote tab in you Word document. The Edit Citation tab lets you edit the citation to Exclude author / year, Add Prefix, Suffix and page numbers In the lower part of the window the reference tab will let you see the details for that Endnote record so you can be sure that you are working with the correct referenceģ. The cursor in your document will jump to the position of that citation in the document. Select a citation from the list in the upper part of the window. Select the Edit & Manage Citations command.Ģ. The correct way to edit citations is to run the Edit & manage citations command.ġ. The reference will open in EndNote Online. Click Edit Reference for the reference you want to change. Never try to edit the citation in the document itself or your document may corrupt. If you try to delete text from the citation or type directly into it, those changes will disappear the next time the bibliography updates. Check common APA and AMA edits for EndNote in the Editing References tab. Click on the 'More' option in the sub pop-up menu. Click on the 'Edit Citation(s)' option from the pop-up menu. Right click on the in-text citation that you want to add page numbers to. Do NOT edit the citation directly in the Word document. Formatted citations contain hidden field codes indicated by gray shading. NOTE: When editing a citation, you have to use the CWYW plugins 'Edit Citation' function.
